Experience and expertise are the critical attributes needed in order to make a significant difference as a member of the Menlo Park City Board of Education. I have worked for forty-five years as an educator and school principal. Improving student achievement, bringing communities together, developing trust, and implementing change are all responsibilities at which I have excelled as the former principal of Oak Knoll School. During my thirty years as a school principal, I have provided leadership for strategic planning, curriculum development, tax levy campaigns, and district budget analysis. This kind of experience and leadership are essential at this critical time for the Menlo Park School District.
For the first time in many years, Menlo Park voters have expressed an unwillingness to follow the course of action outlined by District leadership. If we are to continue our schools’ positive progress, we must immediately restore the community’s confidence in the Governing Board’s management. Exceptional schools require experienced leadership. I have proven to the Menlo Park community that I have the expertise required to help lead our District. I hope you will support my effort to continue to serve our children and the Menlo Park community.
